Lack of the Role of Modern Islamic Political Movements

Abstract

The Islamic Movement refers to a struggle revolving around the call for God and religion, which is not only all-round but also never-ending. Its responsibility is to provide such people who are not servants of personal interest but who fulfill the rights of both the creator and the creatures for the sake of God's will. When this Islamic movement takes the form of an Islamic political movement, its purpose is to cleanse the earth from corruption and run it in accordance with the rules of God. Among the important contemporary Islamic political movements are the Ikhwan ul Muslaimeen and the Jamaat-e-Islami etc. The ambitions of these movements were to provide active Islamic political system to the people of the world and to bring forth high-potential leaders. But time has proved that these movements were devoid of self-accountability, feelings, proper planning, use of Ijtihad and modern scientific methods. Due to the inconsistency in the words and actions of the members of the movement, they failed to achieve the desired objectives. The success of the Islamic movements can only be possible through such people who not only accept the call of the Qur'an O Sunnah but also adopt the methods of change and reform. By adopting such ways, despite the change of time and situation, they can succeed in refinement of thought, construction of character and social justice.
