Abstract

The division of the Quran into chapters (Surahs), sections (Ajza), parts (Para), and smaller units such as verses and sentences, is an important aspect of understanding the Quran and its teachings. The division of the Quran into Paras, Ruku, and Manazil provides a framework that helps readers navigate the text and understand its structure. Para refers to the division of the Quran into 30 parts, which makes it easier to read and study the Quran in manageable sections. This division also helps Muslims complete the recitation of the entire Quran within a month during the holy month of Ramadan. Ruku refers to the division of the Quran into sections within each Surah. Each Ruku usually contains several verses, which are related thematically. This division helps readers understand the context and message of each section. Manazil refers to the division of the Quran into seven parts, each of which contains several Surahs. These seven parts were traditionally used to help Muslims complete the recitation of the Quran in one week. This division is also helpful for readers who want to focus on particular sections of the Quran.
