Kawkab Ad-Durri `Ala Jami` At-Tirmidhi And Fiqhul Hadith: A Research & Analaytical Review

Abstract

The present article studies Al-Kawkab ad-Durri `ala Jami` at-Tirmidhi multi-voluminous commentary of Jami` at-Tirmidhi, penned by an Indian religious scholar Rasheed Ahmad Gangohi. It is a storehouse of Fiqhul Hadith. Ilm Fiqh-ul-Hadith is one of the important disciplines of Hadith studies. It tells us how an order or limit is derived from the Hadith. Moreover, it determines the inference of the Hadith texts. Orders and obligatory issues of the religion depend on it. Research revealed that profound elicitations from the Hadith texts have been made in it. Some of them have been mentioned by the predecessors in their books, while others have been derived by the author himself. In this regard, when the interpretations and justifications stated by him are compared with those of others, the ones stated by him seem unique and eminent. He made use of the principles of Fiqh for the interpretation of A'Hadith which is rare and singular
