Abstract

Sharī‘ah (Islāmic Law) and Maqāsid (Grand Objectives) of Sharī‘ah

After the composition of Imām Al-Shātibī’s great opus, Al-Muwāfaqāt, Maqāsid al-Sharī‘ah began to be introduced as an independent field of study in the academic circles. Numerous scholars have done great work and written many books which resulted in one’s access to its diverse aspects. In this treatise, different aspects of Maqāsid al-Sharī‘ah are discussed along with their meanings in an attempt to reach to the essence of its implications.
