Abstract

There are two types of recitations that have been transmitted to the ummah: Mutwatra recitations and Shaza recitations. According to Scholars, those recitations which are considered as standard according to the three rules of proof like authenticity, the adaptation of Ottoman Rasm, and adaptation of Arabic language are given the status of Quran. Rest of the recitations which do not meet the set criteria are declared shaza recitations Especially those recitations which are against the Ottoman Rasm, even if they are proved by authenticity. In the article, shaza recitations have been introduced as opposed to mutwatra recitations. A number of commentators have argued with reference to Qaraat Shaza and many orders have been deduced. Similarly, many jurists have also deduced the rules. The definition and benefits of Shazza Qirat are explained here in this article. A brief review of the efforts and writings of the scholars of the ummah regarding the Shaza recitations, so that their importance in the interpretation of the Qur'an may become clear.
