Unpublished Arabic Annotations of Maulana Faiz ur Rahman AL Thori: An Introductory review

Abstract

Maulana Faiz ur Rahman Al-Thori was gifted with special knowledge and perception in the Sciences of Hadith. He used to write annotations on almost every book he studied. He compiled these notes according to a few methods. Firstly, he only wrote a few words on the margin for correction in the book, or he entered punctuation marks at the beginning of the book to make the search for those points easy. Secondly, he made a note on the books for the purpose of annotations. Thirdly, he copied the books from various transcripts and then wrote annotations. Fourthly, before annotating he did compilation and refinement of the book. In the following lines there is an introductory review of these essays which are unpublished, and exist in the form of illustrations or manuscripts and could be accessed by the writers.
